Boom Beach

I cant believe I was so late finding out about BoomBeach !

I’ve been playing it since February 2015 now, and still really enjoy it.

For people that don’t like reading much (like me!) I’ve summarised what I think are the tips and tricks everyone should know.  There are plenty of really detailed guides out there, so I wanted to keep this very simple.

Collecting Resources

In Boom Beach, your aim is to produce and collect to following resources to enable you to grow you base, expand your map and strengthen your troops:

Gold – To buy and upgrade your troops
Wood, Stone & Iron – To Build Structures

Upgrade your Sawmill, Quarry and Iron Works as soon as you can  (and the storage to keep the resources in!)  This saves you having to attack, which in turn keeps your medals down, which in turn reduces your chances of being attacked.

The game consists of 4 parts:

Attacking Other Bases

You can attack other players – each time you do, you receive a medal and extra resources.  It may seem great attacking lots of bases and collecting your rewards, but don’t forget you can be attacked to!  Top Tip: Don’t attack other bases unless your working towards upgrading something.  Its no fun having 1,000,000 gold, wood, stone and iron in your base when someone attacks you, as you’ll lose a good percentage of it.  Only attack when you need to.

Attacking Resource Bases

Resource Bases are a constant source of supplies for you.  The produce supplies for you every hour.  The more of these you have the better.  They can be hard to attack and keep hold of, but well worth the effort when you do!  Try and capture as many of these as you can.

Attacking Special Reward Stages ( Hammerman, Dr Terror,& War Factory)

You will see the options to beat ‘Hammerman’ on your map.  Hammerman is your traditional ‘End of Level Bad Guy’.  Defeating Hammerman unlocks new goals in Boom Beach.

Defeat Hammerman Level 10 and you unlock Dr. Terror.  Unlocking Dr. Terror is the best way to gain much needed resources.  Dr. Terror appears 4 times a week.

Defeating a Hammerman level brings you lots or resources and your chance to gain power stones (which enables you to build statues).

Being Attacked

Its no fun when you’re being attacked, but there isnt a lot you can do about it, watch the replays back, see what you could have done better.

Very Early Stages (Level 1-10)

Resources are very precious in the early stage, so if you’re going to attack make sure that you have enough storage to keep your winnings in!  If you dont have enough storage, you wont collect 100% of the resources that were available, a huge waste when resources are so precious!

Early Stages (Level 10-20)

Join a task force as soon as you can. (This requires Level 6 HQ) Task forces are teams that combine to compete in events that ultimately deliver more resources to your base.  When you join, make sure you attack!  For two reasons: 1- so that your team wins and you earn resources 2- so they dont kick you from the task force.

Once you defeat Hammerman Level 10, Dr Terror will now be appearing on your map, one of the best opportunities for you to collect resources! Now if you’re going to attack, make sure that you have enough storage to keep your winnings in!  A huge waste when resources are so precious!  Its great defeating Dr. Terror for the first time, but if you only have capacity for 10,000 stone, and you win 20,000 from Dr. Terror, you’ll only keep 10,000 of it.

Top Tip: Don’t attack Dr Terror unless your working towards upgrading something.  Its no fun having 1,000,000 gold, wood, stone and iron in your base when someone attacks you, as you’ll lose a good percentage of it.  Only attack when you need to, and make sure you have enough storage capacity to store what you’ve won!
